MAKE-UP LOOK OF THE WEEK

In this post I really wanted to share with you a make-up look that I have really been enjoying lately.
The star of this look is the Bobbi Brown Raw Sugar Shimmer Brick Eye Palette along with a few other bits from their recent Surf & Sand collection.

BASE

Personally I don't like to change up my base products too much. I'm the type of girl that once I find something that works I will tend to stick with it for a while- boring I know!

I converted to the Estée Lauder Double Wear range a few months ago which I am still loving and they work well on my skin type.
Below are the products I use everyday:

EYES

BOBBI BROWN RAW SUGAR SHIMMER BRICK EYE PALETTE

This look is all about the beautiful eyeshadow palette.
I bought this in May and finally decided to use it....sometimes I think that some make-up is just too pretty to use and I end up hoarding it in its pristine condition for months! haha

This was a limited edition palette which sold out straightaway on Bobbi Brown's site but I managed to get my hands on one from Harrods. As a lover of the Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay I knew that this was something that would float my boat as the colouring is similar.

The palette is an array of gorgeous shimmery neutral creams and browns which can be used everyday.

For this look I use the shadow palette along with the Urban Decay Primer Potion in the shade Sin, Laura Mercier's Caviar stick in Amethyst & Sephora's Jumbo Liner in 20 Beige Glitter.
The shimmery shade of the jumbo liner makes the eyes stand out and the Amethyst eye crayon adds definition to the bottom lash line.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE ON MY EYES:

Top L-R: No eye make-up & right eye in progress  Bottom L-R: Right eye finished  & both eyes done up!

I like to use one of the lighter shades over my whole lid and then define the crease with one of the darker browny shades.
The  mascara I have on is my old favourite "They're real" from Benefit.
If anyone has a mascara that is better than this one please let me know! :)

BROWS

On my brows I have been using Too Faced "Bullet Proof Brows" in the shade universal brunette. This is a really long wearing gel formula that is waterproof....great for the sweaty weather we had for a few weeks but as I type this it is chucking it down!
I use it to add definition and fill in some sparse areas that I have. After I brush through some of Benefit's "Gimme Brow" to set everything in place.

CHEEKS & LIPS

The prefect partner for the Raw Sugar Shimmer Brick Eye Palette is the Bobbi Brown Brightening Blush in Bronze 1 from the Surf and Sand collection.
This gives me a lovely summery bronze complexion and I love the little strip of highlighter included.

To compliment all the shimmery browns, I have been reaching for Bobbi Brown's Sheer Lip Colour in Sunlit Pink. This is also from the Surf and Sand collection and one of my absolute faves.

I know that I keep going on about the Surf and sand collection but I must say that it has all kinds of amazing stuff in it! The lip colours in particular are divine! Click here for my thoughts on the collection.

The finished look! Excuse the monster brows...They were due a wax when this pic was taken!

Daisy the cat approves of this look!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post!

SKINCARE ROUTINE

Skincare is important to me as I have been dealt the oily-combination skin card in life so I need to have a good routine in place to keep all the oiliness under control...or at least try my best to do so! These are the products that I use on a daily and weekly basis.

DAILY

For my main routine I use Simple products which are really affordable and perfect for my sensitive skin as they are all perfume and colour free. They also contain nutrients and vitamins that are super kind to the skin.

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash

I use this everyday morning and night to cleanse my face. This face wash contains tiny exfoliating beads which aren't harsh on the skin but still get rid of all the dead skin cells. It contains witch hazel and zinc pca which help reduce blemishes and control shine.

After cleansing I like to use Simple's oil balancing moisturiser. Like the exfoliating wash, it also contains zinc pca to absorb excess oil as well as other ingredients to help matiffy and vitamins to leave the skin super soft and supple. This provides the perfect base to pop my foundation on top of.

On my eyes I like to use Simple's revitalising eye roll on in the morning as the gel formula and metal roll on ball helps to wake me up a bit. It contains cucumber extract and multi-vitamins to help reduce puffiness and wake up tired eyes. A definite must-have for my 5.50am weekday starts!

In the evening I switch to the soothing eye balm which again helps to reduce puffiness and relax tired eyes after a long day of staring at a computer screen.
When I'm having a stressful time I tend to get the odd spot and nothing helps get rid of them like Neutrogena's rapid clear treatment. This stuff helps dry the spots out in no time and in a day or two they seem to vanish!

A product that I can't leave without is Vaseline! I pop it onto dry bits around my nose and on my lips every night before bed to condition them. Vaseline is a particular saviour in the winter when my face goes all weird and decides to be oily and dry at the same time...

WEEKLY

Face Masks

I really enjoy a face mask not only to scare the cat but to give my face a treat! I like the Montagne Jeunesse ones in particular the anti-stress cucumber peel off mask and the anti-stress dead sea muc pac too.

My other faves are the "Face Food Feasts" which are also made by Montagne Jeunesse. These are good as the sachets contain enough for one go so I don't have any left overs lying around.
I really like the cucumber and apple reviving mask as well as the avocado oil and walnut one which I have  ran out of as I used them when I was having a facial dry spell!

You can buy the Montagne Jeunesse ones in Boots as singles but I get mine in bulk from Amazon as it's super cheap!

Boots Tea Tree Witch Hazel Nose Pore Strips

To unclog the pores on my nose I like to use pore strips now and again. There is nothing I love more than peeling it off and seeing all the crap that was lingering inside my pores! I always seem to analyse and stare at the strip for ages like a nutcase!

I used to use the  Bioré® Original Deep Cleansing Pore Strips but the last time I was at Boots I got their own brand ones called Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Pore strips which are a bit cheaper.

 CLARISONIC ARIA

This was a birthday gift which I use when I want to give my face a deep clean. The Aria
uses sonic frequency that makes it do something silly like 300 movements per second (is that even possible?!). This makes is a more effective cleanser than using hands alone and it claims that it will give you a smoother and more radiant complexion. Not sure if I believe this as it could be the foundation I'm using that's making me a tad prettier!
The brilliant thing about the Aria is that is has a timer so you won't spend too much time on one bit of the face as I can imagine that isn't too good for the skin.
My skin feels super clean after using this and  the device looks very pretty and pink in the bathroom! haha

Mine was bought at John Lewis but you can get this in all other good department stores!

MAKE-UP REMOVAL

I'm not sure why I have 3 different make-up removers on the go at once to be honest...must have been some sort of offer at Boots! haha
I use these to remove my make-up at the end of the day by putting some the liquid on a cotton wool pad and gently sweeping it all over my face.
I think my favourite is the first one and this is my 3rd bottle.

I like to go over my face with these wipes after I have used the liquid make-up remover as there is always still some make-up left on my face. I then start the whole cleansing process after this step!

There you have it, my skincare routine! As you can see I'm a big fan of Simple skincare.
I have tried other brands like Garnier but I find that their stuff irritates my skin and often has a smell I don't like.
Saying that I think their make-up removers are really good!
